Starting Over

Once again, I’m sick. Surprised? Ha, I keep running myself into the ground with all the activities I do. So I have spent three days completely on the couch. This is the first time I’ve actually been on the computer–my phone has been more convenient to use on the couch. The first day I refused any noise and light; the second day I messed with my iPhone for hours in between sleeping, and the third day I watched the entire first season of Teen Wolf. I thought I’d completely hate it, but twelve episodes later I’m completely hooked.

Now that I’ve had my break from the real world, and have tests waiting for me when I get back on monday; I need to get back in the swing of things. Considering that it’s the Christmas Season! I am forced to miss the stroll tomorrow because of the doctor’s orders, but I am looking forward to everything else (: Which includes taking lots of photos, eating lots of cookies and watching lots and LOTS of Christmas movies.

Now that I’ve ranted on for a little bit, please enjoy this photo I took a couple months back at Berry Springs Park using only my headlights as lighting.

Merry Christmas!

Here comes the bride…

In truth, no one really got married–considering my sister is way too young to even consider it! But, either way, we got some amazing photos while traipsing through my neighbor’s yard! One of my tips to budding photographers–like myself–is to never be afraid to ask to use a location. The worst thing they could do is say no! Or you could end up with a great location to use for future shoots (:

Back to talking about the shoot–around Halloween my sister, Morgan, my mom and I made a late night trip to Goodwill when we heard about two wedding dresses that were for sale there. I was completely stoked to find them in great condition with HUGE trains and lovely lace. But best of all, one fit me AND one fit my sister. So we decided to borrow our neighbor’s yard and take some shots.

All was going well until we decided to do some “runaway bride” themed shots. I told her to run up this slope and instead she kind of hopped in slow motion sending us both into a fit of laughter. Thinking she was going to do the same thing, I told her to run back down. Instead of slow-mo’ing it, she came running down at full speed! Her high heels got stuck in the rocks causing her to face plant at the bottom, which all in all was hilarious except she twisted her ankle.

It was a memorable experience and I hope you enjoy the shots! I should have the “runaway bride” exposures up once I figure out how I want to edit them….which may take a while….

Happy Halloween!

It’s been a busy weekend before Halloween with costumes and photo taking galore! I had the honor of running the photo booth for the Preschool Masquerade Bash at Main Street Baptist Church on the square. The kids were so cute and having a ball making crafts and eating cookies. There were about 100 or so kids there with their parents and most if not all of them came to see me at the photo booth . I loved the decorations done by the lovely Kristi Gardner and had just enough time to set up my equiptment before I was surrounded by parents ready to put their kids on my list! All in all the kids were lovely and I seeing all the photos just makes me smile (:

Sick and Still Going…

his is week three of being sick! Whoo! Can’t you hear my enthusiasm? If you could hear me that is…Okay well first it was my head then my nose and now my throat and then back to my nose. The antibiotics aren’t strong enough and I’m not a happy camper.

On the bright side, I did get to spend some quality time with my camera, Theodore II. I experimented with one of my studio lights and got to dress up like an old movie star. With red lips and black eyeliner, I felt pretty classy. Except that I kept smearing the lipstick whenever I tried to blow my nose…..They turned out better than I expected so that has to count for something (: The quality on these is kind of icky because I had to compress them otherwise it would take hours to upload.

I will start adding more photos on a regular in the near future once band starts winding down. I’m hoping to get better so I can go take some photos for the ideas I’ve been having recently. Like…..I am now the happy owner of two HUGE wedding dresses! goodwill is an amazing place to scavenge. Have a great week everyone and keep checking up here, my Christmas session pricing should be up soon along with a new logo for Drew Anne Photography. I’m so excited to see what it’s going to look like I can barely contain it! But, we’ll all just have to wait and see (:

Lightning Storm

The lightning storm last night was abosolutely amazing! I was able to get to spend some time out on our back deck just watching the sky light up behind our trees. It’s been such a long time since we’ve even seen some form of rain and this at least hopefully means that we’ll get some in the future.

Besides the rain, it’s been a busy week and it’s only Tuesday! I’m attempting to get this website up and running but in between writing papers for school I’ve been swamped. Hopefully I can squeeze in some time in the near future:)I also have a shoot in the planning so stay tuned!
